MAMA ALEIBIRIERE AT 70
March 21st , 2025 will forever fresh in the memories of the Oburumus and Ondukus as they celebrated the 70th birthday of their loving wife,mother, grandmother, mother in-law , sister , aunt etc.
Encomiums rained like blessings as family and well wishers conversed at her residence for the reception after the Thanksgiving Service at All Saints Anglican Cathedral Ughelli on the 23rd of March 2025.
The Bishop of the Cathedral,The Most Rev.C.O.Odutemu,PhD.JP.Arch Bishop Ecclesiastical Province of Bendel/Bishop, Ughelli, personally officiated the thanksgiving service in recognition of Mrs Aleibiriere Dorcas Oburumu ( Nee Onduku) dedication to the evangelical activities not only in the Cathedral but the Anglican Adams Preaching Society.
The Bishop acknowledged her young and beautiful outlook despite clocking 70.
In response, Mama Dorcas attributed everything to God Almighty even in times of turbulence. She gracefully mimed an Ijaw song to the admiration of the congregation.
In her words , " God is always a blessing to me and my family, protecting me , my husband and my children. I will serve and appreciate him for the guidance and blessings particularly good health even at old age."
Mrs Dorcas Oburumu was accompanied to the church by her loving husband, Mr. Tekeme Oburumu, her children, Hon.Tam Oburumu, Engineer Tobi Oburumu, Mrs Timi Labo, Mrs Tare Millah, her grandchildren. Also in the entourage were her son in-law Barrister Labo Clifford, her daughters in-law , Mrs Tam Believe Victor and Mrs Fejiro Oburumu.
Also at the thanksgiving were her elder brother, Engineer Peretorou Michael Onduku , his wife Mrs Ayakoromoere Onduku,.
Barrister Preye Onduku , younger brother to the celebrant was also around. Mrs Ayanemibo Lion, also a younger sister of the celebrant attended the church service.
Engineer Kumo Amgbaduba , her younger cousin was equally on ground to wish her the milestone of her life.
Her nieces , Mrs Ebizimor Moses , Emomotimi and Deborah were all at the church service.
The Anglican mothers Union and other departments of the church joined the family in the procession towards the alter .
At the reception, others who couldn't make it to the church service joined the celebration in grand style. Her young sister , Mrs Ibandan Onduku accompanied by her son Hon.Jude Angodideke ,his wife and children rejoiced. with her.
A musical live band was performed by Ughelli highlife maestro Kpomo Sauce A.K.A K- Sauce who thrilled guests with melodious old school tones.
Highlight of the occasion was the brief speech of the chairman of the occasion Mr Emmanuel young and cutting of the birthday cake followed by the romantic dance between the celebrant and her husband.
Xtrim news briefly interviewed the children on what the know or feel about their mother. The eldest son, Hon. Tam Oburumu, in his words said ' My mother is not only caring , loving but also disciplined. He raised up into responsible adults through diligence, uprightness and love in Godly ways . She sacrificed her comfort in seeing us through our education. In fact I owe more than this birthday. I am lucky to have such a loving and caring mother ,not only for her children but everyone around her. Happy birthday sweet mother.
In Engineer Tobi's words, " Mummy is a superb mother who is always there for her children. She is kind and loving."
For Timi Labo, her first daughter, she simply described her mother in these touching words"My mummy my mother she is a strong and God fearing woman. She have a large heart and pure intentions for her children, husband, son-in laws and daughter in-laws. God bless her and keep her safe in jesus name.'
The. youngest child and daughter, Tare Millah said ' My mother is matchless in her love and care of her children. She deserved every honour. "

The Wake Delta Initiative ( WDI) popularly known as WAKERS held their maiden meeting on the 9th of November,2024. The meeting also provided online platform for members who couldn't participate physically due to some challenges. Speaking to Xtrim News , the National Director General of the sociopolitical group, Tam Oburumu,expressed confidence in WDI, waking Deltans all over the world to stand up to their civic responsibilities. He emphasized the need for competent deltans to gear up for leadership positions through WDI that's working on the grassroots to mobilized supporters and voters for credible and passionate Deltans.WDI will be critical against the financial excesses of politicians who mismanage public funds to the detriment of Deltans. Though the meeting was postponed due to little network hitches ,it was successful as interim positions were alloted to serious minded members.
