LGA Polls: Ward Five Should be Considered - Baker

A lawyer and chieftain of The Peoples' Democratic Party ( PDP) in Bomadi LGA, Barr. Krobose Barker, has joined the clarion call for Ward Five to produce the next chairman of the LGA council. This is coming in support of concerned citizens of the area, citing the political injustice meted on the people of Ward Five since the creation of the LGA. Barrister Baker noted,it will only be justifiable if ward five is given the opportunity to lead the LGA like others.
He clearly stated , the continuous political hitches that barricade the chances of a Ward five indigene becoming council chairman of the LGA is totally undermining , marginalizing and discouraging despite giving PDP an uninterrupted loyalty during elections . Barrister Baker makes a comprehensive analysis to Xtrim News on the different wards especially Kpakiama (Ward 2) and Bomadi ( ward 1). In his words , " It's on record, Bomadi ( ward one) has produced council chairman twice despite enjoying the privileges of an LGA headquarters. Mr. Deinya Macaulay , from 1996 to 1997 and Mr Odoko in 1999. Kpakiama ( ward 2) has also produced the council chairmanship position twice in the persons of Hon.Preyor 2005-2007 ( now a house of assembly member in his fourth tenure) and Mr. Franklin Edonkumor ( 1991- 1993). It's therefore laughable for people from these wards to agitate for council chairmanship over the genuine call of Ward Five to produce the next Bomadi LGA chairman. If t should cry against marginalization , it's ward five. " Barrister Baker passionately appeals to Governor Sheriff to see the honest appeal from Ward Five as a mandatory democratic request for the sake of Justice and equity . He dispersed a group of ex councillors on fruitless political journeys, castigating Bomadi LGA political leadership of discriminating them from elective and appointive offices when everyone knows some ex- councillors are being appointed as SAs. SSAs and recently a LGA council secretary.. The propaganda by the so called ex -councillors move is a deliberate ploy by mischievous politicians in the name of some Ex-Councilors to discredit the efforts of the leaders . He also appeals to the governor and Bomadi LGA leaders to take the Ward Five humble request in their decisions and conclusions about the forth coming LGA council polls. It will be recalled, some months back , the Ward five indigenes of Kalafiogbene and Ekamta,through their community chairmen and PDP ward chairman wrote an open letter to his Excellency RT.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori concerning this important matter.
