Tam Faults INEC : Calls For Cancellation Of Bomadi House of Assembly Polls

The Young Progressive party ( YPP) House of assembly candidate Tam Oburumu, in Bomadi constituency, Delta state has called for the outright cancellation of the house of assembly election held on the18th of March, 2023, citing gross irregularities, vote buying and changing of polling units results by the PDP and its infamous candidate through compromised INEC staffs. In his official facebook page, the prolific author and human rights activist rejects the outcome of the election and calls for the immediate cancellation of the election. He queries the Independent Electoral Commission for declaring the candidate of PDP Hon.Preyor Oboro as the winner of the election. The official statement read as thus:
OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY TAM OBURUMU YPP CANDIDATE ON THE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY ELECTION, BOMADI CONSTITUENCY HELD OF THE 18TH MARCH 2023 I am Oburumu Tamaraukepreye popularly known as Tam Oburumu, an author, scriptwriter, tutor, human rights activist and online news publisher..I am the house of assembly candidate of Young Progressive Party ( YPP) Bomadi constituency on the recently held election. As a popular and the most competent candidate during the election I am forced within the limits of our laws to vehemently reject the outcome of the so called election which I have termed as a mere political jamboree. Aside the open vote buying by the INEC favoured PDP candidate and his collaborators, there were doctored and manipulated polling units results to complement their rigging. INEC officials controversially spent the night before the election with sensitive materials in their possession at PDP political leaders' houses in Esanma, Ogbeinama , Akugbene , Ogodobiri, Ezebri, EKamta and Ogriagbene .This gave PDP and the compromised corrupt INEC Ad hoc staff opportunity to shortchange, manipulate the process after monetary inducement.
The PDP candidate through his party agents bought votes ranging from four thousand to Five thousand Nigerian Naira with one wrapper ( cloth) each for a voter. In some cases , baskets of rice and garri were included. In most units particularly Ogbeinama , Akugbene and Ogriagbene, the BVAs were deliberately not used as voters were manually accredited. Some accredited voters were deliberately disenfranchised. There was no electronic transmission of polling units results and most results didn't reflect the outcome as results initially announced were changed with a doctored one by the INEC officials after being paid and announced at the collation center in Bomadi town. Ward 7, 8 and 9 results were deliberately delayed for a day before they were brought to INEC office in Bomadi the next day. The results were doctored in the homes of the present house of representatives member and other local chiefs in the town. At the appropriate time , I will mention their names . In Ogriagbene Ward 4, my agents, mostly of the Obedient movement were molested and intimidated as votes were bought at the public glare . This unfortunate and primitive act took place across the constituency including Kpakiama and Bomadi towns by the PDP and its infamous candidates. YPP members and executives in Bomadi LGA who were unfortunately polling units agents were bought over with parry sum of #4,000.00 each by PDP in Esanma , Kpakiama and some polling units in Bomadi. To this end, I deem it fit to say the election that INEC conducted in Bomadi constituency is nothing but a political fraud. A democratic coup against the civilize process of conducting free and fair election. The candidate of PDP Hon. Preyor Oboro who INEC returned is not the true winner because the process was marred with gross irregularities, illegalities and malpractices. I call for an outright cancellation of the election INEC conducted in Bomadi constituency on the 18th of March 2023 because the outcome was nothing but clear contradiction to the 2022 Electoral Act.
