BREAKING; TRIBUNAL KICKS OUT DOUYE DIRI

Bayelsa election tribunal nullifies Douye Diri's election

The election tribunal hearing the petition of ANDP over the exclusion of the party from the 2019 governorship by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has nullified the election, ordering a conduct of fresh election with 90 days.
Delivering the judgement on behalf of the three-man panel, justice Yunusa Musa , said INEC has no right to disqualify any candidate , consequently making the disqualification of the deputy governorship candidate Mr. David Esinkumo and the removal of ANDP from the list of candidates illegal.
INEC has earlier defended the disqualification of David Esinkumo based on his age . It was revealed David Esinkumo was only 34 years at the time of the submission hence the disqualification.
ANDP disagreed with INEC , saying it met the requirements by replacing the said candidate before the deadline as stipulated by the Electoral Act .
At press time, there's already wild jubilation across the oil rich state .
