Amidst financial misappropriation and abuse of power, the presidential panel investigating the excesses of Mr. Ibrahim Magu, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) has suspended him.
Xtrim News confidentially gathered,this may not be unconnected to the cold war going on within the caucus in the villa .
Some powerful elements just want Magu out of the picture due to perceived differences between Malami, the anthony general of the federation and the estranged acting chairman of the Commission.
This is rather coming as a shock because of the influence of Magu in president Buhari's administration.
Notable Nigerians are insinuating a setback on the so called fight against corruption with such controversies.
African human rights activist, Comr. Tam Oburumu, when asked about his opinion, see it as a retrogressive development. He said;
" If someone who was supposed to fight corruption is being accused of the same corruption,then it means there was truly nothing like fighting corruption in the first place. It was a jamboree used by the desperate APC government to deceive Nigerians."
At press time the fate of Magu is still hanging in the balance as investigation continues.
