The open power tussle between former acting chairman of EFCC , Ibrahim Magu and the Anthony General of the federation Abubakar Malami is getting messier .
Magu, who has been in police detention since the presidential panel commenced investigation on his financial misappropriation and insubordination, is refused bail despite writing to the IGP.
There are series of damning allegations and counter allegations of diverting monies and properties ceased from purported corrupt people by EFCC into personal use .
This was also part of the reason, the vice president, Prof Yemi Osibanjo wrote the IGP and DSS to also investigate the alleged 4 billion naira Magu was reported to have given to him from the more than 30 billion naira at his disposal.
The crisis seems interesting as sources loyal to Magu, the poltical godson to the late Chief Of Staff , Abba Kyari have also exposed the financial irregularities and abuse of office by Malami to the press, especially, the open display of money flaunting during social and religious gatherings and other shaddy corrupt deals.
There are more facts emanating from credible sources that Magu falls out of Buhari's favor, after the death of Abba Kyari as the cabal wants him out of the picture for others to land safely. This is majorly why Buhari quickly approved Magu's suspension and replacement.
The surprise indictment of Magu has shown how porous and one sided the Nigerian so called fight against corruption has been since 1999.
This has vindicated critics , who from the onset have been skeptical about the sincerity of government to fight corruption.
Xtrim News will be closely following all development concerning this story to the end .
