The IYC Election Is a Game Of the Highest Bidders with a Compromised ELECO
Some aggrieved candidates of the Ijaw Youth Council ( IYC) in yesterday's National Election at Oporoza town in Warri South West LGA of Delta State have condemned the shaddy electoral process that produced the new executives of the group.
XTRIM NEWS finds out, most candidates that came out triumphantly were either godsons to political leaders or militants .
Delegates were paid handsomely and were directed to vote for the so called anointed candidates of politicians or ex militants almost in hapless conditions.
Some candidates were forced to withdraw and form compulsory alliance with the annoited candidates.
It's also aledged the candidates that were not in the favored list were deprived from having access or knowledge of the delegates thereby keeping them in the dark.
Speaking after the election, one of candidates simply known as Comr. Preye Tambo expresses disappointment in the Electoral Commission of the body .
In a statement signed by him , it reads in bits.
"..It was a game of the highest bidders and the who is who backing the candidates and I didn't have the money to lobby.. Though there were Irregularities made by the ELECO yet I have accepted the outcomes..."
At the time of this report, one relatively unknown candidate,Comr. Peter has been declared the 8th president of the once articulate ethnic pressure group.
The IYC that was established in 1998 has been engrossed with one controversial election or the other in the past couple of years with different factions majorly submissive to different political affiliations .
