Judgement not Satisfactory, Subject to Appeal
Reliable sources at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) have hinted a possibility of the anti-graft agency, appealing the judgement of a Federal High Court in Lagos, clearing ex Niger Delta warlord, Mr. Government Ekpemupolo aka, Tompolo, ex DG of Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency(NIMASA) , Mr. Ziakede Patrick Akpoboloukaemi and others over 45.9 billion naira fraud. This is because the judgement is not satisfactory to the agency.

Giving the judgement earlier , Justice Ibrahim Buba, cleared Tompolo , Akpoboloukaemi and others of all charge, noting, EFCC's prosecuting team didn't prove beyond reasonable doubt the suspects actually defrauded NIMASA up to the sum of 45.9 billion naira. This necessitated their discharge and acquittal.
Xtrim News learns, there are unprecedented celebrations by fans of Tompolo and his kins men in his home town, Ekerenkoko and social media platforms.
The judgement is a sheer shocker to EFCC that has earlier succeeded in jailing another ex- NIMASA Executive Director , Captain Ezekiel Bala Agbado for seven years due to a 1.5 billion naira laundering.
The sources have made it clear that it's not yet time for celebration by the ex militant and his fans because EFCC lawyers are studying the judgement and will likely file an appeal.
According to them, Nigerian government will never relent in its fight against organized corruption in the country by any person or group of people.
Although there are unconfirmed reports of a gentleman's agreement between the suspects and the government which spurred the outcome of the judgement, such stories may just be an allusion of rumor mongers if EFCC finally filed an appeal.
