Akpabio Plans To Silence Me - Nunieh

Police Holds Nunieh Hostage in her residence, Wike Comes to the  Resque

The former managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC),Ms.Joy Nunieh has accused Godswill Akpabio, the controversial Minister for Niger Delta Affairs of deliberately frustrating her from appearing on the House Committee, investigating the financial misappropriations going on in the board .
She made this accusation, after a team of policemen stormed her portharcourt residence this early morning to arrest her without warrant.
Miss Joy was later resqued by the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike who , according to reports ,has taken her to government house .
Over the past few days, Miss Joy and Godswill Akpabio have been in loggerhead, accusing each other of fraud and other irregularities.
This obviously prompts Ms. Joy Nunieh's plan to appear before the joint National Assembly Committee , investigating the various allegations leveled against the board, to tell her own part of the story and possibly spill some milk .
The incidence of the police invasion and occupation of her residence may not be unconnected to some powerful People, trying to hide top secrets of dirty deals going on in NDDC.
Days back, both Akpabio and Joy were on Arise News, openly accusing each other of fraud, immoralities and insubordination.
Miss Joy Nunieh  has revealed that, the reason why she was sacked and replaced within three months of her appointment was because she refused to dance to the corrupt dictates of Akpabio, who wanted her to take an oath of secrecy in his mission to embezzle funds of the board .
She also aledges , Akpabio had harrassed her sexually and this resulted to physically confrontation in one instance.
Godswill Akpabio has since dismissed Joy's claims, saying, she was replaced because of insubordination and certificate forgery.
He claims, Joy has been promiscuous with four different failed marriages and of such , shouldn't be taken seriously.
According to his words' " We didn't sack her, she was replaced, not because of corruption but insubordination. There are a lot of petitions questioning her certificates and legibility from independent sources and we deem it fit to replace her .'
There are serious allegations of financial misappropriation and reckless spendings to the tone of 40 billion naira by the interim board headed by Nunieh's successor, Prof Pondei in a very short period.
The Covid-19 1.5 billion naira palliatives for staff is equally under investigation and mass condemnation by stakeholders in the region.
The crisis is generating tension in the board ,former president, Olusegun Obasanjo established in 2000.
Xtrim News finds out exclusively, many lawmakers, including the chairman, House Committee on the Niger Delta, Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi are embroiled in the scandals amounting to billions of naira. Peter Nwaoboshi has since denied that.
This may be one reason, the acting MD and his staff walked out of the committee when it was obvious that things are moving out of neutrality.
At press time, Ms. Joy Nunieh is still with governor Wike, who has since addressed press, expressing his disappointment on the issue.
